Getting started
What to expect in the first week.
Do I need to know any Enuani already?
No. The program starts from the first greeting and assumes nothing. Most people arrive understanding a little and speaking none of it, which is exactly the position the first module is written for.
I'm not Anioma. Can I still learn?
Yes, and you are welcome. The program is built for people reconnecting with a heritage language, but nothing in it is closed to someone learning Enuani for another reason.
How much time does it take each week?
Two or three lessons of about fifteen minutes each, plus a live class if you are on a plan that includes them. Around an hour a week is enough to keep moving; more is fine, and nothing expires if you take a week off.
Is there a minimum age?
No, anyone can learn with us. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian has to agree first: when you sign up we email them, and your account opens as soon as they say yes.
Can I look around before paying?
The proverb library and the Know Your Name lookup are open to everyone without an account. The lessons themselves need a subscription — Explore is the smallest one, and you can cancel it at any time.
The learning experience
How lessons, culture, and quizzes fit together.
What does a lesson actually look like?
Audio from a native speaker first, then the written form, then a cultural note explaining when and to whom the phrase is used, then a short graded quiz. Roughly fifteen minutes end to end.
Is the audio recorded by native speakers?
Yes. Enuani is tonal, and a synthesised voice teaches tone patterns that do not exist. Every lesson recording is from a speaker of the variety being taught.
How are quizzes graded?
Automatically and immediately, on the server. You see your score with an explanation for anything you missed, your attempts are kept so you can see improvement, and you can retake any quiz as often as you like.
Can I go at my own pace?
Yes. Modules unlock in order because each builds on the last, but there is no schedule to keep up with and no penalty for a gap. Your position in a lesson is saved, so you resume where you stopped.
What is the Know Your Name tool?
A lookup that returns the meaning of an Anioma name, how it breaks down, how it is pronounced, and the cultural ground it stands on — along with how well evidenced the entry is, because not every name is equally documented.
Live classes
The part where you speak out loud.
How often are live classes held?
2 group classes a week on Speak & Connect and 3 on Deep Roots. They run at fixed times each week across time zones that suit the diaspora.
What if I miss one?
Group classes may be recorded. When one is, the recording is on your classes page for 60 days afterwards, so a missed session is still available to you. One-to-one sessions are never recorded. There is no limit on how many group classes you attend or skip.
How large are the groups?
Small enough that everyone speaks in every session. A class where you can sit silently for an hour is not doing the one thing a live class is for.
Do I have to turn my camera on?
It helps — a lot of pronunciation is visible — but it is not required. Nobody is removed from a room for keeping their camera off.
What are one-to-one sessions for?
Deep Roots includes 4 private sessions a month. People use them for pronunciation work, for preparing something specific such as a speech or a call home, or simply to move faster than a group can.
Pricing & billing
What you pay and when.
Which plan should I choose?
Explore if you want the lessons and the cultural library to work through on your own. Speak & Connect adds the live classes and graded practice, and is what most people want. Deep Roots adds one-to-one sessions and the complete cultural library.
Can I switch or cancel later?
Both, at any time. Switching plans applies straight away: moving up, you pay only the difference for the rest of the period; moving down, the unused part becomes credit against your next payments. Your plan renews automatically until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next payment and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. No fees, no notice period.
Why are prices in US dollars?
Every plan is priced and charged in US dollars, so the price is the same wherever you live. You can pay with your own card from anywhere; if it is in another currency, your bank converts the amount at its rate on the day.
Do you offer refunds?
For 14 days after a new subscription starts, or after an annual plan renews, you can cancel from your Account page and be refunded what you paid minus the days you have used; your access ends then. After the 14 days, payments are final: cancelling stops the next payment, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. We always refund a billing error, such as being charged twice. Write to peteremeka@gmail.com with "Billing problem" in the subject line. The details are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Technical
Devices, access, and account questions.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Lessons, the proverb library, and the name lookup all work on a phone browser — no app to install. Live classes run through a video link that works on mobile too, though a laptop is easier for a class.
Can I download lessons for offline use?
Not yet. Lessons stream, so they need a connection. Offline access is something we want to add, and audio is deliberately kept small so it works on a modest connection.
What do I need for a live class?
A browser, a working microphone, and a link. Headphones make a noticeable difference to everyone else in the room, so use them if you have them.
How do I change or delete my account?
To delete your account, sign in and go to Account, then Delete my account. Deleting it ends any plan straight away; within the 14 days to cancel we refund the days you have not used, and after them the rest of the period is not refunded, so you may prefer to cancel your plan first and delete the account later. To change your name, email address or password, write to peteremeka@gmail.com and we will make the change for you.
Still deciding?
Start where it suits you.
