Audio, first
Every lesson opens with a native speaker. You hear the phrase before you see it written, because the spelling of a tonal language will lie to you if you meet it first.
The program
Six modules of short lessons you can do on a commute, weekly live classes where you actually speak, and a record of everything you have covered so you can always see how far in you are.
What you learn
Not a syllabus of topics covered — a list of things you could not do before and will be able to do after.
How lessons work
Every lesson has the same shape, so you always know what you are walking into.
Every lesson opens with a native speaker. You hear the phrase before you see it written, because the spelling of a tonal language will lie to you if you meet it first.
What the phrase is for. Who says it to whom, when it would be rude, what it implies that a translation drops. This is the part that makes the language stick.
A handful of questions at the end — recall, listening, and meaning. Graded immediately, with an explanation for anything you get wrong.
One thing to actually use before the next lesson. A greeting to send, a question to ask, a phrase to work into a call home.
The modules
Module titles and lesson counts are indicative while the curriculum is being finalised.
Dalu unu (“Hello, everyone”) and the greetings around it, greeting by age and status, introducing yourself and your people.
The words for kin, the vocabulary of a kitchen, and how to talk about what you remember.
Towns and origins, saying where you are from, and your first proverbs in context.
Counting, prices, bargaining, and the everyday arithmetic of a market conversation.
How Anioma names are built, what they claim, and the ceremonies behind them.
Past tense, sequence, and the shape of a told story — enough to hold the floor.
Live classes
Lessons build the vocabulary. The live room is where it becomes usable — small groups, cameras on, everyone equally out of practice.
A week on the program
An example week. You set your own pace — nothing expires.
Progress
Progress is tracked per lesson and per module, with quiz scores kept so you can go back to what did not land.
Each lesson records where you stopped, so picking it up later starts where you left it rather than at the top.
Every attempt is kept with its score, and you can retake any quiz as many times as you like.
A module closes when its lessons and quiz are done — the one clear marker of having finished something.
The program, the quizzes and the cultural library are included on every plan. The live classes are what Speak & Connect and Deep Roots add.
Ready when you are
Start on any plan and move up or down as your pace changes. Cancel whenever you like.
